FOR $181.00

TONY IS A LETTER CARRIER FROM ROCHESTER 14619 (THURSTON)

 CONGRATULATIONS TONY!!

The meeting was called to order by President Art Muoio at 7:00pm. A motion to dispense with the reading of the previous meeting minutes was made and passed.

Greg Karalias gave the membership report in which he read 14 new members had joined the branch this month.

Norm LeFrois gave a Health Benefits report: Norm told the members that the new TE's if they choose to join the NALC are eligible to purchase any of the insurance programs offered by MBA. This includes all the Life Insurance plans as well as the Maturity Income Plan. The MBA has announced that the interest rate for the Maturity Income plan for the period of October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008 is 5.75%. Norm stated that the NALC insurance Department is going to soon announce a new plan to better serve the active Letter Carriers and their insurance needs. When we get word about this new plan information will be sent out to the members.

Norm is going to be offering (2) two open houses for you to go and ask him questions regarding your insurance needs. These open houses will be Thursday November 15, 2007 at the GMF Cafeteria from 8:30am-1:00pm, and the second is Tuesday December 4, 2007 at the Wishing Well Party House @1190 Chili Ave 14624 1:00pm-4:00pm. Norm will review your current insurance plan and help you make sure your needs are addressed.

During this open season please make sure when making a choice for insurance that you take into consideration not only premiums but also coverage and co-pays.

Are you going to retire?? We recently have had a few carriers call the office as they forgot to send in their applications to join after retirement, remember if you are retiring you must fill out the 1187 that is sent to you after you retire in order to remain a member, IT IS NOT AUTOMATIC. the window to join is limited and once National drops your membership it can not be regained.

As per our contractual agreement we will be receiving back pay for the 1.4% pay increase back to November of last year, that back pay will be for all hours worked up to Pay period 20 when the pay increase went into affect and should include Overtime worked. The Back pay will be in your regular Paycheck on November 30, 2007.
