 CONGRATULATIONS JIM! 

The meeting was called to order by President Art Muoio at 7:00pm. A motion to dispense with the reading of the previous meeting minutes was made and passed.    

Norm spoke on the open houses he is holding to help you make an informed decision for your and your families health care needs for the upcoming year. November 11 and November 22 Norm will be at the Union office from 12:00 till 4:00pm.  On November 18 Norm will be at the GMF cafeteria from 7-11am.

The release of the latest consumer price index shows no increase in the cost of living, therefore there is no accumulation towards the next Cost of Living (COLA).

Congress recently passed a bill that will provide credit for unused sick leave upon retirement for FERS employees much like that of CSRS. The bill has been signed into law and currently it provides 50% credit. In 2014 FERS employee will receive full credit.

The Bowl-a-thon for MDA went very well and we had 59 people bowling. through their donations as well as donations from Darien Lake, the Rochester Amerks, Buffalo Bills, Rochester Red Wings, Chuck E Cheese, MDA, one of our Carriers Wally Romashko, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Clover Lanes, Salvatores Pizza, Peri's Pizza and Applebees, we were able to raise $1800 to donate to MDA. The Branch will be holding this event again next year as all had a great time. 

The Union hall has received a facelift in the form of a much needed new roof. The work was completed and looks great. No more leaks!

Jack reported on his annual golf tournament and he said we donated $1000 to Gildas Club to fight Ovarian Cancer. Thanks to all who golfed this year.

It is almost combined Federal Campaign time again and the Postal Relief Fund is #10268

On November 21 all Letter Carrier will receive a 1.9% pay increase. You will see this pay increase in your December 11 paycheck.

Branch by-laws call for steward elections January of every even year therefore if you would like to run for steward in your assigned unit please notify your present steward or call the union hall @ 427-2450 and we will prepare ballots for the election in your unit.

The annual penalty time exclusionary period is December 5 through January 1, 2010. During this period there is no Penalty overtime (V-Time). All overtime will be paid at time and a half.

Branch 210 is proud to offer member appreciation night at the Rochester Amerks hockey game, Friday November 27. For $10 premium seat tickets call the union office at 427-2450.

The next Union meeting is scheduled for Wednesday December 2, 2009 at 7:00pm and will be held at the Valencia's Restaurant which is located on Long Pond Road in Gates.

And finally I would like to invite more members to Union meetings to learn what is happening with your Union.
