Norm LeFrois spoke on the Hospital Plus Plan offered by the Mutual Benefits Association. Click here to see information on this plan. One of those new changes involves allowing children to be on a parents policy until age 26 as long as the child is still a dependant. OPM has stated that this will not begin until January 1, 2011.

Kevin Montgomery spoke on Political action and informed the membership about our recent congressional visit to get our Congressional representatives to back our position on 6-day delivery. Kevin told the membership that all but Chris Lee back continued 6-day delivery and that Chris Lee was not in Washington at that time so we could not get his take on the subject.

The release of the latest consumer price index shows no increase in the cost of living, therefore there is no accumulation towards the next Cost of Living (COLA).

The Branch will hold the raffle again in June 2010. See your steward in April for the $5.00 tickets.

The merger application with Penn Yan has been approved by National and we now represent the Letter Carriers in Penn Yan.

The Branch 210 annual picnic will be held at Darien Lake July 11, 2010. Prices will be as follows; Members and their immediate family (Spouse, Minor Children) $18 each, all other guests $28 each. If you are applying for FMLA protection with regards to sick leave you must send your information directly to the FMLA coordinator. If you send it to the medical unit only, due to Hipaa regulations the Medical Unit cannot share the information with the FMLA coordinator.

The By-Law change which was mailed to each member via the Letter Carrier review would eliminate the Position at the beginning of the next year January 2011. There will be a discussion regarding this By-Law change and it will be voted on after the discussion at the June 2, 2010 union meeting.

Joni Montroy is holding a series of seminars on retirement planning at the Girl Scout center on John Street in Henrietta. The dates are May 18, June 10 for CSRS and May 19 and June 7 for FERS, all classes are at 6:30pm. Click here for a copy of the sign up sheet to reserve a spot. Due to Shared Service delay in scanning disciplinary actions into your Personnel Folders we have found instances where the disciplinary letters are put into your files after Kenny Montgomery has notified you that it has been removed. It is very important that you go to Liteblue.usps.gov using your employee ID number and PIN look in your OPF (must be done with internet explorer). If you find anything in your Personnel folder that does not belong contact the Union office for further assistance.

The food drive is scheduled for June 7 - June 12, 2010. we have been able to obtain Food Drive cards this year and they will be distributed prior to the drive. The Postmaster in Rochester has asked all carriers bring the food back to the station this year to be sent to the pantries at the same time.

Rick Salamone's daughter has come down with cancer. the members in Downtown have asked that if any members would like to send any help Rick's way it would be greatly appreciated. Please send any checks payable to Rick Salamone or anything else you would like to send to Downtown Station or you can send it to the Union hall and we will make sure Rick receives it.

The next Union meeting is scheduled for Wednesday June 2, 2010 at 7:00pm and will be held at the Valencia's Restaurant which is located on Long Pond Road in Gates.

And finally I would like to invite more members to Union meetings to learn what is happening with your Union.
